Sherri's comments n 9/11 are so important for us to be thinking about as we talk with your teens. Many of our teens have no clear memory of their day on 9/11. Help your teen by talking about your teen's schedule on that day. Talk to your teen about your response on 9/11 to the terrible tragedy that struck our nation.
On the front of a magazine this week, I saw an article about the children of 9/11. The article chronicled a number of children who were babies or not yet born on that fateful day. The current thoughts of those preteens are interesting. The sense of someone missing from their family is present in the article.
Discuss the impact on the families who lost a member that day. Take time to have your teen tell you how he thinks those families have functioned since that day. Ask your teen to describe the significance of that day in his life and what lessons he may have learned from this event.
Remember that day - and honor the memories of those who died.
