During the holidays parents put themselves on the back burner. When we are busier than normal or have too much to do we tend to put our needs last. When we do this we get more stressed and irritable. This makes it difficult to do our part in this time of family.
So, try to eat as healthy as you can. Don't avoid the holiday goodies but at most meals try to continue your healthy eating. Continue your regular exercise routine. Get a good nights sleep. This are things you should strive for every day but don't put it on the back burner at this time of year.
Also pay attention to patience. When my kids were younger I never addressed an issue until I knew I was calm enough to handle it the way I wanted to. You do not have to address something at the time it occurs. I would tell the offender to go to her room and we would talk in an hour (or what ever amount of time I felt I needed to think about the best way to handle something.) In that way I did not just go to a place of anger.
So, eat well, exercise, sleep, and be patient. Have a Merry Christmas. Sherri
