Every teen I know believes that he has done soething in his life that seems irreversible. Being able to change behaviors and develop a new beginning is imoprtant. But teens get stuck sometimes in their belief that a new beginning might not be possible for them.
How do you handle behaviors that you do not see as positive in your life? Do you believe in backing up, reevaluating what happened, and deliberately choosing a different way to deal with that issue? If so, great, you already know what to do and what help to get. If not, then you need to think about how you handle issues in which you need to make a change
The best way to teach your teen about new beginnings is for him to see how you handle mistakes you make and start new beginnings. Another good way for your teen to learn about this is to give him examples who did have new beginnings.
Good luck!
