Debra, I agree with your comments, but I would apply it beyond "teens" to other children. Daxi is not yet 10 and for the last 3 years she has helped do pro bono adoptions of scores of CPS children on National Adoption Day held on the Saturday just before Thanksgiving. She takes photos, hands out roses to the new mothers, Teddy Bears to the adopted children and new siblings. Also, as a theatre and drama student, she role-plays "students in conflict" for Peer Mediation Training for school children at the Law School here; etc. I was recently pleased to see that her school, Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, presents elementary students with "Community Service Awards". Thank you for your fine contributions.

Marty, you are right. I think that younger children than teens can learn the importance of giving in a positive way such as Daxi does. Clearly she has had an excellent role model in you as I know you give countless hours to causes such as National Adoption Day. You are a great example of how someone uses his power in a positive way for the betterment of the community - and you have passed this on to Daxi. Good job!
I really appreciate all of your insights.
