We have talked a lot about what parents and their reactions to teens due to their own backgrounds.
This weekend, find a time to ask your teen what he or she likes most about their backgrounds. Be sure to talk about what a "background" is comprised of : ethnicity, religion, values, region of country, family history, etc. Ask them why they like this. You might be surprised about what you find out about your teen! And you might be surprised about where the conversation leads you.
