I am going to share with you a very touching story I was told this week. A grandmother raising her two young grandsons for her daughter who is unable to be with them at this time reported this story to me. She said the eight year old came home from school and told her it was not her fault that he had to go to a new school this year. He reported that his teacher told the class that she had prayed to God to give her the very best third graders in the world and her prayer was answered. She had the best third graders. He was relieved and felt proud. This summer has been very traumatic for this little boy and this was just what he needed to hear.
We may never know how our words will impact the children around us. This can be the children we live with or the children we encounter during our days. Children are so impressionable that whether we say things like this teacher did that really encouraged this hurting child or we say things that are hurtful because of our own emotions and level of stress and our words impact our children. Think before you speak. Sherri
Awesome Sherri! Thanks for sharing this. Kids are so impressionable, it is important that we choose what we say carefully! Awesome teacher!
