Very excellent points, Sherri. I fully agree that society does not value children.

We have tried to make sure that our kids have some unstructured time to play outside, to play Legos, to build forts in the family room--anything to give them the opportunity to be creative and find their own fun.
We encourage them to apply themselves, to recognize their different strengths and weaknesses.
